Dr. Elguja Khokrishvili
Regional Expertise: South Caucasus
Dr. Elguja Khokrishvili will be a Global Faculty Program Visiting Professor at ZI Osteuropa-Institut for the winter semester 2021/22 at the Freie Universität Berlin. He will be teaching a course on decentralization and development in Georgia and South Caucasus, while initiating a series of partnerships for the ZI Osteuropa-Institut with the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (www.iset.tsu.ge) and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, Georgia (https://rustaveli.org.ge/index.php).
Mr. Khokrishvili has been a Senior Fellow at Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP) and a Research Fellow at the International School of Economics (ISET) at Tbilisi State University. He holds a doctoral degree in Economics and Social Science from Potsdam University as well as a Master's and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the same University. Previously he held teaching and research positions at Potsdam University, Grigol Robakidze University and Ilia State University. For several years he has been an expert in local and international organizations, working in the areas of regional economic development, sustainable fiscal policy, fiscal decentralization and tax policy.
